The weather department has placed Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Subarnapur, Boudh, Balangir, and Kalahandi under a yellow alert, urging residents to take precautions. The warning remains in effect for March 30 as the heatwave persists.
Jharsuguda Records Highest Temperature
On March 28, Jharsuguda recorded a scorching 43°C, making it the hottest place in Odisha. Bhubaneswar, the state capital, crossed 40°C for the first time this year, while 18 towns across Odisha witnessed temperatures exceeding 40°C.
