The Odisha Revenue and Disaster Management Department has launched a WhatsApp‑based chatbot to make revenue services more accessible to citizens and reduce the need for office visits.
Unveiled by Minister Suresh Pujari, the chatbot is available at 9437292000 and initially offers 16 services, with two more to be added soon. Citizens can use the platform for land mutation, change of land category, marriage registration, society registration, and issuance of caste, income, and residential certificates. Access to Bhulekh land records and pattas is also integrated.
The facility allows users to apply for services and track application status from home, leveraging WhatsApp’s widespread use among Odisha’s 1.65 crore users. Officials noted that the chatbot has already facilitated over one crore corrections under revenue services.
Minister Pujari said the initiative aims to enhance transparency, convenience, and efficiency in public service delivery, ensuring citizens can access essential services without visiting government offices.
