Ganjam: A woman identified as Laxmi Gauda was found dead near her village “Puhindi” under Jarda police station limits of Berhampur in the district today.
Reportedly, the matter came to fore after some locals spotted the body lying in a pool of blood in a field near the village and alerted the cops about the matter.
On receiving information, the cops reached the spot and recovered the body for post-mortem.
An investigation has been initiated into the matter. It is suspected to be a murder. However, the actual reason behind the death is yet to be ascertained, the police said.
