In a vibrant celebration of Odisha’s living heritage, the Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS) has opened its first-ever pop-up store in the heart of New Delhi.

Located at the bustling DLF Avenue in Saket, the exclusive month-long showcase runs from 11 August to 10 September 2026, bringing the colours, textures and stories of Odisha’s rural artisans directly to the national capital.

Formally inaugurated on the evening of 11 August by Minister for Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water, Rabi Narayan Naik, the store was launched in the presence of Girish S.N., IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Department, Dr. Monica Priyadarshini, CEO of ORMAS, and other senior officials and guests. The atmosphere was charged with pride as Odisha’s finest craftsmanship took centre stage in one of Delhi’s most popular lifestyle destinations.

Step inside and you are greeted by a carefully curated collection of more than 30 celebrated products from 14 districts of the state. The shelves glow with the intricate beauty of Sambalpuri Ikat sarees, luxurious Sambalpuri and Habaspuri silk, earthy Kotpad weaves, delicate Pattachitra and Tussar silk sarees, and the classic elegance of Khandua Pata. Complementing the textiles is a striking range of traditional Sambalpuri jewellery and the timeless metal craft of Dhokra — each piece a testament to generations of skill and cultural identity.

More than a retail experience, the ORMAS Pop-up Store is a powerful market bridge. It connects weavers, artisans, and Community-Based Organisations from rural Odisha with discerning customers in Delhi, offering them greater visibility, fair market access, and the chance to grow their livelihoods. For the first time, these creators have a dedicated, high-footfall platform in the national capital to tell their stories and sell their craft.

This initiative marks a significant milestone for ORMAS under the Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Department. By taking Odisha’s distinctive handloom and handicraft traditions beyond state borders, it reinforces the organisation’s mission of creating sustainable livelihood opportunities while proudly showcasing the state’s cultural wealth on a national stage.

Whether you are a lover of handwoven textiles, a collector of authentic Indian crafts, or simply curious about the artistry of Odisha, the ORMAS Pop-up Store at DLF Avenue, Saket, promises a month of discovery, colour and connection. From 11 August to 10 September 2026, Odisha’s villages are speaking to Delhi — one beautiful thread and one handcrafted piece at a time.
