Balasore: Two persons along with a physically handicapped woman were killed and five others injured, when a speeding car rammed into a group of people on the roadside at Naguan Chhak in Balasore on Monday.
Meanwhile, the identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained but the locals present over there said that the deceased were belonging to Bhogarai area of the district.
According to reports, the accident took place this afternoon when the woman along with some other persons was reportedly standing on the footpath.
A speeding car jumped over the footpath and ran over them, causing the death of the woman and the child on the spot.
The two injured were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. Later, four of them were shifted to Balasore DHH as their health condition deteriorated.
Meanwhile, tension ran high at Jaleswar over this incident. Locals demanded compensation and action against the driver and car owner.
On being informed, police reached the spot and launched an investigation into the matter.
