The operation led to the recovery of 66 grams of stolen gold ornaments and over 2.5 kilograms of silver jewellery.
The gang had been carrying out thefts in multiple police station areas under the Bhanjanagar subdivision, including Tarasingi, Balipadar, Buguda, and Jagannathprasad. Acting on the instructions of Ganjam SP, Bhanjanagar IIC Jibanananda Jena formed a special team comprising officers from nearby stations. Police said the gang had committed more than seven thefts in the region. On June 17 night, the accused broke into the house of Sushil Kumar Panda in Bada Tulasi Palli village under Bhanjanagar police limits and stole gold and silver ornaments.
