Nayagada Police have secured convictions in two kidnapping cases, underscoring the importance of meticulous investigation, effective prosecution, and sustained coordination between the police and prosecution authorities.
In Ranpur PS Case No. 33/2012, the accused was sentenced to five years of rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs 2,000. The conviction followed a professional investigation by the then Investigating Officer SI Sangram Keshari Paikray, effective prosecution by APP Sansari Sahoo and close supervision by Sri Nalinikanta Moharana, Deputy Director of Prosecution, Nayagarh and Smt. Prachhe Prabha Nanda, Assistant Director of Prosecution, Nayagarh.
In another case, Itamati PS Case No. 94/2023, the court awarded the accused three years of rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 20,000. The case was investigated by the then-investigating officer SI Subash Behera and successfully prosecuted by Special Public Prosecutor Shiva Shankar Biswal. The prosecution proceedings were closely monitored by Nalinikanta Moharana, Deputy Director of Prosecution, Nayagarh, and Prachhe Prabha Nanda, Assistant Director of Prosecution, Nayagada, contributing to the successful conviction.
