Tension gripped the Chandrasekharpur area on Thursday after a heated quarrel between two groups escalated into a dramatic confrontation near Buddha Vihar, with young men reportedly roaming the streets armed with swords and machettes.
Eyewitnesses described a shocking scene as the youths paraded through the locality, weapons in hand, sending ripples of fear through local residents. The incident, which unfolded in broad daylight close to the popular Buddha Jayanti Park, left many in the neighbourhood terrified and concerned about rising youth violence in the area.
According to the Commissionerate Police, officers received information about a clash between two rival groups near Buddha Vihar. Preliminary investigations suggest the dispute originated from a love triangle. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported so far.
“Police have identified some persons allegedly involved in the incident. They will be apprehended soon,” the police said in an official statement.
The visuals of armed youths moving through a residential locality have sparked outrage among locals, with many questioning how such brazen behaviour could occur in a bustling part of the state capital.
