In a transparent and participatory move amid ongoing efforts to strengthen school education, Odisha’s School & Mass Education Department has made revised textbooks for Classes 1 to 4 available online.

The department is now calling upon teachers, parents, educators, and the general public to review these books and provide constructive suggestions within the next seven days.

The updated textbooks, developed collaboratively by the School & Mass Education Department, Directorate of Teacher Education, State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), and Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA), are accessible on their official websites.

This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to delivering high-quality, error-free learning materials aligned with contemporary educational standards and the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Stakeholders can submit their feedback via email to textbookscertodisha@gmail.com (mailto:textbookscertodisha@gmail.com) or through the dedicated helpline number 1800-345-6722.

All valuable inputs will be reviewed and incorporated into the final versions before full-scale distribution to government schools across the state.

This open review process marks a welcome step towards collaborative curriculum development, empowering communities to play an active role in shaping the foundational education of Odisha’s young learners.

It comes at a time when the state is addressing past challenges in textbook quality, aiming to build greater trust and excellence in the education system.
