With just five days to go for the prestigious NEET-UG 2026 examination, Odisha’s top police brass has swung into action.
Director General of Police (DGP) Yogesh Bahadur Khurania chaired a high-level review meeting at his camp office today, issuing strict directives to ensure the exam is conducted in a completely fair, secure, and hassle-free manner across the state.
The NEET-UG 2026 exam is scheduled for June 21, 2026. This year, the examination will be held at 132 centres spread across various districts of Odisha.
Emphasising zero tolerance towards any malpractice, the Odisha DGP instructed all District Superintendents of Police (SPs) and senior officers to implement a robust three-tier security arrangement.
Key Directives Issued by DGP:
- Maintain strict law and order inside and outside examination centres.
- Ensure round-the-clock CCTV surveillance and fool-proof security of question papers stored in bank lockers.
- Smooth traffic management and quick emergency response mechanisms.
- Heightened social media monitoring to counter fake news, rumours, and misinformation.
- Pre-checking and testing of all security arrangements.
- Safe collection and transfer of OMR sheets post-examination as per protocol.
“Any irregularity, malpractice, or security lapse will not be tolerated under any circumstances,” the DGP warned, asking all officers to remain alert, proactive, and fully prepared.

The meeting was attended by senior officers, including ADG (Crime Branch) Binaytosh Mishra, ADG (Law & Order) Sanjay Kumar, and IG (Central Range) Dr Satyajit Naik. All Range IG/DIGs and District SPs joined virtually.
