Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati has called upon Chartered Accountancy students to uphold unwavering integrity while pursuing professional excellence, describing it as the foundation for lasting success in their careers and nation-building.
Addressing the National Conference of Chartered Accountancy Students at the KIIT Auditorium on Friday, the Governor emphasised that while knowledge imparts skills, it is strong character that builds trust and enduring achievement. “Success gained without integrity is temporary. Success founded on integrity and ethical values is permanent,” he told the enthusiastic gathering of young professionals-in-the-making.
Dr. Kambhampati advised students to strike a healthy balance between personal values and professional growth. He urged them to cultivate discipline, humility, compassion, and a spirit of service. He described the conference as a vibrant convergence of talented youth who will emerge as future economic leaders, entrepreneurs, policy advisors, and nation-builders, playing a pivotal role in India’s journey toward a developed nation by 2047.
The Governor lauded the Eastern India Regional Council (EIRC) Bhubaneswar Branch and the ICAI Board of Studies (Operations) for organising the event and promoting professional excellence, leadership, and continuous learning among students.
Highlighting the evolving role of Chartered Accountants, Dr. Kambhampati said CAs are the guardians of transparency, accountability, financial discipline, and corporate governance. In a rapidly changing technological landscape driven by Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Blockchain, and FinTech, he encouraged future CAs to move beyond traditional accounting and become trusted strategic advisors, risk managers, and decision-making partners.
He stressed that CAs have a critical role in supporting startups, strengthening MSMEs, ensuring good governance, and attracting investments — all essential for realising the vision of Viksit Bharat.
The Governor also spotlighted Odisha’s immense opportunities in industry, infrastructure, IT, renewable energy, ports, logistics, and tourism, encouraging students to explore the state’s expanding professional landscape. “Your dreams, dedication, and firm resolve will not only shape your future but also the future of our nation,” he said.
He further called upon students to follow Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of economic self-reliance (Atmanirbhar Bharat). He encouraged the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs), installation of rooftop solar systems, and support for the government’s ethanol-blending initiative, which creates new opportunities for farmers. He also appealed to established CA firms to promote EV usage and solar energy adoption among their employees.
Prominent dignitaries who addressed the conference included ICAI Board of Studies (Operations) Chairman Rajesh Sharma, Central Council Members Sanjiv Sanghi and Ravi Kumar Patwa, EICASA Chairman and EIRC Vice-Chairman Hari Ram Agrawal, ICAI Bhubaneswar Chairman Dr. Gautam Lenka, and EICASA Chairman & ICAI Bhubaneswar Vice-Chairman Dr. Prithvi Ranjan Parhi, who delivered the welcome address. A commemorative souvenir was also released on the occasion.
