Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke arrived in India from the United States on Saturday and immediately joined a large-scale protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, intensifying calls for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in major national examinations.

The demonstration attracted hundreds of participants, including school and college students, young professionals, and parents. Many attendees wore symbolic cockroach masks, carried books and the national flag, and raised slogans demanding accountability in the education system.

Dipke’s First Statement After Landing

After arriving at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, Dipke made his position clear while addressing supporters and media personnel.

“Education minister must resign. Five students have committed suicide,” Dipke said while holding a biography of Dr B.R. Ambedkar.

His remarks come amid growing public debate surrounding controversies linked to examinations such as NEET, CBSE, CUET, and SSC recruitment tests, which have sparked concerns among students and parents across the country.

Protest Focuses on Exam Transparency and Accountability

The Jantar Mantar gathering was organised by the Cockroach Janta Party, a youth-driven online movement that has gained significant traction on social media in recent months.

Protesters demanded greater transparency, accountability, and reforms in India’s examination and recruitment systems. Participants alleged that repeated controversies have affected the confidence of students preparing for competitive exams.

Several students and parents attended the event, describing the protest as a platform to voice concerns about the future of millions of young aspirants.

Peaceful Demonstration Encouraged

Ahead of the protest, Dipke urged supporters to maintain discipline and avoid any confrontation.

The CJP circulated detailed guidelines encouraging participants to remain peaceful, cooperate with law enforcement authorities, and conduct the demonstration respectfully.

In a social media message, Dipke asked attendees to bring books and the Indian Tricolour while promoting a peaceful movement centered on dialogue and democratic participation.

He also encouraged participants to offer flowers to police personnel as a gesture of goodwill and mutual respect.

Sonam Wangchuk Extends Support

Environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk extended support to the movement and stated that he would undertake a six-week fast if Dipke were arrested during the protest.

His backing has further increased public attention on the demonstration and the issues being raised by student groups.

Security Tightened Across Delhi

Authorities implemented extensive security arrangements ahead of the protest.

According to officials, additional police personnel were deployed at the airport, border checkpoints, and sensitive locations across the national capital. More than 1,000 security personnel were reportedly stationed in New Delhi and nearby areas to ensure public safety and maintain law and order.

Despite the heightened security presence, the protest remained peaceful as participants continued to call for reforms in the education sector.

Why the Protest Matters

The Jantar Mantar demonstration reflects growing concerns among students and families regarding examination management and transparency. With national-level exams playing a crucial role in higher education admissions and government recruitment, demands for accountability have become a major public issue.

As the movement gains visibility, attention is likely to remain focused on the government’s response to concerns raised over NEET, CBSE, CUET, SSC, and other examination-related controversies.
