The state received the PM Surya Ghar Excellence Award for its outstanding performance during the Month of Solar campaign held in May 2026.
Odisha ranked first among medium‑category states for the highest number of consumer applications, rooftop solar installations, and DISCOM verifications. The state also secured third place in the Maximum Vendor Registrations category.
Majhi said the achievement reflects the government’s forward‑thinking approach, strong departmental coordination, and the collective efforts of officials working at the grassroots level. He congratulated all departments, officers, and stakeholders involved in the campaign.
He added that Odisha remains committed to environmentally friendly growth in the renewable energy sector. The success will strengthen the state’s energy infrastructure and contribute to building a self‑reliant Odisha.
