Odisha Vigilance achieved another success in its anti‑corruption drive as the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bolangir, convicted former Additional Tahasildar Rajendra Choudhury in a bribery case on June 2.
Choudhury, ORS (Retd.), served at Deogaon Tahasil in Bolangir district. Investigators proved that he demanded and accepted ₹20,000 from a complainant for issuing a transit pass in Y‑Form. The court sentenced him to three years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a ₹10,000 fine.
Odisha Vigilance will now approach the competent authority to stop Choudhury’s pension benefits following his conviction. Officials said the verdict reinforces the department’s commitment to transparency and accountability in public service.
