India continued its dominant run in the Under-18 Women’s Asian Cup with a 3-1 victory over Korea in the second Pool A match.
After defeating Malaysia in their opener, the team displayed strong form and tactical discipline to secure another win.
Naushin Naz opened the scoring with a penalty stroke just four minutes into the game, giving India an early lead. Shruti Kumari doubled the advantage in the 21st minute with a precise strike, allowing India to enter halftime ahead 2-0.
Korea attempted a comeback after the break when Gyeongmin Ryu scored in the 41st minute. However, India quickly restored control as Kiran Ekka converted a penalty corner two minutes later, sealing the 3-1 result. Kiran’s performance earned her the Player of the Match award.
India maintained possession and composure throughout the contest, earning four penalty corners and one penalty stroke. Korea managed two penalty corners but failed to capitalise.
With victories over Malaysia and Korea, India now leads Pool A with six points. The team will face Singapore on June 2, aiming to extend its winning streak and secure a semifinal berth.
