The Higher Education Department announced the commencement of admissions for undergraduate programmes for the academic session 2026–27, including the Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Programme (AEDP).
Students can apply through the SAMS portal until June 10, 2026.
Officials said the AEDP integrates academic learning with industry exposure, aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 that emphasises skill development and employment opportunities. The programme is available in 11 subjects: Commerce, Home Science, Economics, History, English, Zoology, Mathematics, Library Science, Chemistry, Geology, and Botany.
Students who complete their +2 education can enrol in these courses. The AEDP provides a one-year apprenticeship opportunity during the third year of study, along with a stipend during the apprenticeship period.
Authorities highlighted that the programme will help students gain practical industry experience while pursuing academic education, thereby enhancing their employability. The initiative reflects the department’s commitment to bridging the gap between classroom learning and workplace skills.
