In a significant push to strengthen its grassroots outreach, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) President and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik met members of the BJD Legal Front and urged them to become a powerful voice for ordinary citizens seeking justice.
Patnaik advised the Legal Front to intensify its efforts in providing free legal aid to the poor and underprivileged while holding the government accountable for any perceived neglect in delivering timely justice. He emphasised building a robust network at the district and block levels to make legal support more accessible across Odisha.
“Strengthen the Legal Front further. Raise your voice against injustice to the common people. Ensure that the poor receive free legal assistance so they can get justice from the system,” Patnaik told the delegation, according to party sources.
The meeting saw active participation from senior Legal Front members, including Milan Kanungo, Manoj Verma, Siddharth Das, Suresh Barik, and others. They shared thoughtful suggestions on expanding the Front’s presence and effectiveness at the ground level.
This engagement underscores BJD’s strategy to reposition itself as a proactive opposition force, blending legal advocacy with people-centric initiatives ahead of upcoming local elections. By focusing on legal empowerment, the party aims to connect directly with citizens facing systemic challenges.
