Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy Chief Ministers KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, along with other leaders, extended greetings to the people of Odisha and the nation on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day on Saturday.
CM Majhi paid tribute to freedom fighters and urged people to work collectively towards building a prosperous Odisha and a developed India.
CM Majhi pays tribute to freedom fighters
In a post on X, Majhi remembered both known and unsung heroes whose sacrifices contributed to India’s freedom struggle.
He said their courage, sacrifice and patriotism continue to live on through the freedom enjoyed by citizens today.
Majhi called upon people to honour the legacy of the freedom fighters by serving the nation with unity, integrity and resolve.
He also reiterated his vision of building a “Samruddha Odisha” and contributing to the development of a “Viksit Bharat.”
KV Singh Deo remembers martyrs
Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo also extended his Independence Day greetings and paid tribute to the countless martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country’s freedom.
He highlighted India’s journey over eight decades, describing resilience, progress and unity as key forces that have shaped the country.
Singh Deo said Independence Day was an occasion to renew the commitment to justice, liberty and equality while saluting the national flag.
He also said Odisha remained committed to its journey towards a Viksit Bharat, with prosperity reaching every citizen.
Pravati Parida extends greetings
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida conveyed her Independence Day wishes through a video message.
“Heartfelt greetings and best wishes to you all on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day,” she said.
The leaders’ messages came as Odisha joined the nation in celebrating Independence Day, remembering the sacrifices of freedom fighters and reaffirming the commitment to India’s development and democratic values.
