Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented two exquisite handicraft products from Odisha to Norway’s royal family during his visit to Oslo.
He gifted King Harald V a silver sailboat model crafted in Cuttack, showcasing the state’s famed Tarakasi silver filigree artistry and maritime legacy. He also gifted Queen Sonja a palm leaf Pattachitra, highlighting Odisha’s ancient engraving tradition and cultural heritage.
The silver sailboat model symbolised Odisha’s craftsmanship and its historical ties to maritime trade. The palm leaf Pattachitra reflected the intricate detailing and storytelling tradition of Odisha’s artisans. Both gifts carried deep cultural significance, representing India’s rich heritage on the global stage.
