Mumbai Indians pulled off a thrilling six-wicket victory over Punjab Kings in Match 58 of IPL 2026 at Dharamshala.
Chasing a stiff 201-run target, MI rode on Tilak Varma’s composed fifty and Will Jacks’ explosive hitting in the death overs to seal the win with just one ball to spare.
Punjab Kings had earlier posted 200/8, with strong contributions in the middle overs and a late surge. Despite losing Rohit Sharma and Naman Dhir cheaply, MI’s lower order kept the chase alive. Varma’s slog-sweep six to reach his fifty and Jacks’ back-to-back boundaries in the final overs turned the tide decisively.
The victory not only showcased MI’s batting depth but also highlighted their ability to recover from setbacks. Punjab’s bowlers struck at intervals, but the relentless hitting in the final overs proved too much to contain.
With this win, Mumbai strengthened their playoff push, while Punjab’s campaign took another hit.
