Police in Bhubaneswar arrested four college students for allegedly gang-raping a private engineering student at a mess in the Kaimatia area under the Info Valley police station.
The incident shocked the capital and raised serious concerns about student safety.
The survivor lodged a complaint at Info Valley police station after her boyfriend and three of his friends allegedly lured her into a room and assaulted her. Acting swiftly, police detained the accused and later confirmed their arrest. The accused were identified as Sipun Behera, Ranjan Behera, Shubhankar Padhi, and Ratikant.
Investigators interrogated the accused to establish the sequence of events. Commissionerate Police, along with a scientific team, visited the mess and began collecting evidence. Authorities assured that the investigation would continue until all facts are verified.
