The Subarnapur district administration announced holidays for schools, colleges, and Anganwadi centres from April 18 to 22 due to extreme heat conditions.

District Collector ordered the closure of all educational institutions after temperatures soared across the region. The administration acted to protect students from the severe heatwave affecting western Odisha.

Subarnapur recorded some of the highest temperatures in the state this week. The scorching heat and dry winds disrupted daily life, forcing authorities to act. The Collector confirmed that the administration will review the situation after April 22 and decide whether to extend the holidays.
