Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced that the registration period for the Subhadra scheme may be extended by five days to accommodate applicants facing technical difficulties.
The scheme, launched for women aged 21 to 60, allows new beneficiaries to apply between April 1 and April 30, 2026.
Parida said the government noticed fewer applications than expected but assured that sufficient time remains for eligible women to register. She added that those turning 21 this year can apply through the Subhadra portal via Common Service Centres (CSCs) and Ama Seva Kendras.
The Deputy Chief Minister emphasised that only women who have not previously applied for the Subhadra scheme can submit new applications. Earlier applicants will not be considered again. She explained that the government will provide Rs 10,000 annually to eligible beneficiaries in two instalments starting from the 2026–27 financial year.
Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Department of Women and Child Development, Dr Mrunalini Darswal, stated that application forms will be available free of cost at Anganwadi Centres and CDPO offices. The department aims to ensure smooth registration and timely assistance to all eligible women.
