A 35-year-old man survived a murderous assault late Thursday night in Rourkela’s Gandhi Road under the Plant Site police station limits.
Rajendra Singh was chatting with a friend around 11 PM when a group of youths arrived in a car and a bike. Without warning, they attacked him with sharp weapons. Singh ran for his life and managed to escape despite severe injuries.
Locals rushed to the spot after hearing the commotion. The attackers fled in their vehicles before residents could intervene. Singh was immediately taken to the hospital, where doctors admitted him for treatment.
Following the incident, Singh’s brother lodged a complaint at the Plant Site police station. Police registered a case and began an investigation to identify and arrest the culprits.
