The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, extended the last date for online applications for the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) 2026 to May 9, 2026.
The original deadline ended on April 9, but many candidates failed to complete the process. Responding to this, BSE granted an additional month. More than 70,000 candidates have already applied, and officials expect the number to cross one lakh with the extended window.
OTET serves as a mandatory eligibility test for teaching positions in government and private schools across Odisha for Classes I to VIII. The examination is scheduled for May 29, 2026. The extension allows aspirants to carefully fill forms and avoid last-minute technical issues.
A large number of applicants are in-service teachers. The extended timeline ensures they can complete applications without rushing. The Board emphasised that the extension supports both fresh and in-service candidates.
The official notification confirmed the new deadline, stating that applications will remain open until May 9. Candidates must complete the process through the official websites www.bseodisha.ac.in or bseoexams.org.
