Iran Threatens US Tech Firms After Trump’s Strike Warning

Iran issued a sharp warning to the United States on Friday, threatening “complete annihilation” of American-linked energy and ICT companies in the region if Washington targets its power plants.

The statement came a day after an Iranian strike reportedly damaged Amazon’s cloud facility in Bahrain.

A spokesman for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya HQ said that any US attack on Iranian power facilities would trigger retaliation against companies including Microsoft, Nvidia, OpenAI, Amazon, and Goldman Sachs. The video message also referenced “Stargate,” an AI computing cluster in the UAE, and displayed images of American CEOs tied to the project.

Local authorities in Bahrain confirmed that civil defence teams extinguished a fire at a facility following the Iranian strike. Amazon Web Services had earlier acknowledged disruptions in its Bahrain operations due to the conflict.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have repeatedly accused US technology and finance firms of aiding American military operations. In March, the IRGC listed 18 companies, including Microsoft, Apple, Google, Meta, and Amazon, as “legitimate targets.”

The latest escalation underscores the vulnerability of regional ICT and energy infrastructure amid rising tensions. Iran’s threats highlight the strategic importance of undersea cables, cloud facilities, and AI clusters, which Tehran claims are linked to US intelligence operations.

Authorities in Washington have not yet responded to the latest warning, but analysts say the situation could further destabilise critical trade and digital networks across the Middle East.
