Three people lost their lives in a tragic road accident when the Bullet motorcycle they were travelling on collided head-on with a LAccMi bus near Patapalli Chhak under Sorada Police Station limits in Ganjam district on Thursday evening.
The deceased have been identified as Silu Muli, Tilu Gouda, and Shankar Gouda, all residents of Maniakathi village. The trio was returning from Sorada to their village after completing work around 7:30 PM when the fatal crash occurred.
According to reports, the RE Bullet was heading towards Maniakathi while the bus was proceeding towards Sorada. The impact was so severe that all three men died on the spot.
Upon receiving information, Sorada police, fire brigade personnel, and a 108 ambulance rushed to the scene. The bodies were shifted to Sorada Community Health Centre, where doctors declared them dead on arrival.
The Sorada police have seized the bodies and launched an investigation into the cause of the accident. Arrangements are being made to send the deceased for post-mortem examination, informed Sorada Police Station Officer Sunil Kumar Pradhan.
The incident has left the families of the victims in deep mourning, with relatives and locals gathering at the medical facility in grief.
