Sundargarh Bus Mishap Claims 2 Lives, Leaves 35 Injured

A tragic road accident occurred on Thursday near Tangar Munda under the Sundargarh Sadar police station limits, claiming the lives of two individuals and injuring 35 others.


The incident involved the Samleshwari bus (Reg. No. OD 23 AR 03347), which collided with a motorcycle (Reg. No. CG 14 EM 07156) before overturning.

According to reports, the motorcycle rider succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at Sundargarh Medical College & Hospital. Another victim, a young male passenger, was crushed under the bus and died at the scene. The bodies of the deceased have been kept at the District Headquarters Hospital for further procedures.

Of the 35 injured, 32 are receiving treatment at the District Headquarters Hospital, while three have been shifted to Sundargarh for advanced care.

Sundargarh Sadar Sub-Collector Dasarathi Sarabu and Sadar Tehsildar visited the hospital to inquire about the condition of the injured, sources confirmed.

Police are investigating the circumstances that led to the mishap.
