Anna Leigh Waters captured her 42nd career hat-trick of titles at the Veolia Texas Open in Austin, Texas, winning women’s singles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles on March 15.
Waters dominated the women’s singles final, defeating Kate Fahey 11-1, 11-6. She then partnered Anna Bright in women’s doubles to beat Parris Todd and Alix Truong 11-2, 11-6, 11-4. The duo remains unbeaten in 2026, showcasing consistency and control despite windy conditions. Waters later teamed up with Ben Johns in mixed doubles, overcoming Anna Bright and Hayden Patriquin in three games to complete her hat-trick.
Waters emphasised discipline in blustery weather. “It came down to who made fewer unforced errors while staying aggressive,” she said, highlighting the balance between patience and pressure that secured her victories.
In men’s doubles, Ben Johns and Gabe Tardio extended their perfect 2026 run by defeating Andrei Daescu and Federico Staksrud 11-0, 12-10, 11-7. Johns and Tardio raced through the opening game without conceding a point, then held firm in crucial moments to close out the match.
The Texas wind added unpredictability, but both Waters and Johns-Tardio adapted with poise. Their triumphs reinforced the importance of resilience and tactical sharpness under pressure, leaving Austin with titles earned through skill and composure.
