Villagers discovered the decomposed body of a 72-year-old woman hanging from a tree near Masan Pada in Mahapatra Balanda under Babu Nikitimal Panchayat of Bamra block.
The deceased, identified as Brusha Kisan of Mahapatra Balanda village, had been missing since March 10.
Residents spotted the body near the cremation ground and immediately informed the Mahulpali police. Officers recovered the body and sent it to Kuchinda hospital for a post-mortem before handing it over to the family.
Her son, Dehuri Kisan, lodged a complaint, prompting police to register an unnatural death case. Family members stated that the woman had been suffering from mental health issues. Police confirmed the recovery and shared details of the case around noon today.
