Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati emphasized the need for inclusive development, social responsibility, and ethical governance at the 4th Kumar Krushna Chandra Ray Memorial Lecture held at the RIE-NCERT Campus Auditorium on Wednesday.

Paying tribute to the late social activist, the Governor highlighted Ray’s dedication to social justice, education, and economic empowerment. He stressed that true progress is meaningful only when it uplifts the most marginalized sections of society.

“This memorial lecture is not just a tribute to his legacy but also a reminder to carry forward his vision. His commitment to serving the underprivileged transformed countless lives, and his ideals remain relevant today,” Dr. Kambhampati said.

He called for collective efforts to build a just and inclusive society where opportunities are accessible to all, regardless of background or economic status. Commending the organizers for the initiative, he said the lecture serves as a vital platform for discussions on social change.

“The best tribute to his legacy is not just in words but in our actions. Let us work towards an Odisha where progress benefits all—a Viksit, just, and inclusive state driven by the spirit of service,” he concluded.

The event was jointly organized by Vikasharthe Vidyarthi Trust, Bhubaneswar, and ABVP, Odisha. Soumendra Kumar Jena spoke about the life and contributions of Kumar Krushna Chandra Ray, while B. Surendran served as the chief speaker. The vote of thanks was delivered by Smt. Diptimayee Pratihari.
