Indian Embassy Advises Nationals in UAE to Avoid Filming Amid Middle East Tensions

The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi has issued an advisory urging Indian nationals residing in or visiting the United Arab Emirates to avoid taking photographs or recording videos of incident locations amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.

The warning comes as Iran continues retaliatory missile and drone attacks following US-Israeli air strikes.

Authorities in the UAE have emphasized that strict action will be taken against anyone involved in unauthorized filming of sensitive sites, including airports and restricted areas. The embassy advised Indian citizens to follow safety measures to prevent legal complications and ensure their personal safety.

Key Advisory Measures:

  • Move to a safe location immediately upon hearing warning alerts and remain there until the alert is lifted. Do not attempt to capture photos or videos.

  • Avoid sharing images of incident sites or damages on social media platforms.

  • Report any suspicious objects or shrapnel to local authorities without approaching or touching them.

  • Refrain from taking photos or videos inside airport premises during arrivals or departures.

“In view of the current regional situation, the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi urges all Indian nationals to strictly follow UAE laws and safety guidelines,” the advisory stated.

The Gulf region has become a focal point in the escalating confrontation between the United States and Iran. Tehran’s missile and drone attacks have targeted American military bases in Arab countries and critical energy infrastructure, including oil facilities. The UAE, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain reported intercepting multiple Iranian strikes, while oil production cuts began in key areas near the Strait of Hormuz, affecting global energy exports.

Despite Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian directing the military to avoid attacking nations not involved in the conflict, strikes have continued, highlighting the fragile security situation in the region.
