On the eve of International Women’s Day, a special program was organised at Mayfair Convention in Bhubaneswar to honour distinguished women who have made remarkable contributions in various fields.

The event was held under the vision and guidance of Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Women & Child Development, Mission Shakti, and Tourism, Pravati Parida.

The program was graced by the presence of Mrs. Kambhampati Jayasree, First Lady of the State and wife of the Governor; Dr. Priyanka Marandi, wife of Chief Minister;  Surama Padhy, Speaker of Odisha Legislative Assembly; Anu Garg, Chief Secretary of Odisha; Sulochana Das, Mayor of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation; Mrinalini Darswal, Commissioner-cum-Secretary of Department of Women & Child Development; and Manasi Nimbhal, Commissioner-cum-Secretary of Mission Shakti Department, along with several distinguished guests and accomplished women from across the state.

The program commenced with the ceremonial watering of a tree by the dignitaries, symbolising growth, hope, and the spirit of women’s empowerment.

On this occasion, Chief Secretary Garg was honoured for her exceptional leadership and remarkable contributions to public administration.

In her address, the Deputy Chief Minister stated that the presence of such a large number of accomplished women from diverse fields at the event is a strong testament to the progress of Odisha. She emphasised that women in today’s Odisha are not merely participants in the state’s development; they are leading the transformation and shaping a new trajectory of growth for the state.

The celebration concluded on a vibrant cultural note with soulful performances by an eminent vocalist and Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee. Susmita Das, along with State Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee Dr. Adyasha Das, added charm and grace to the occasion.
