Jammu and Kashmir created history by winning their maiden Ranji Trophy title, defeating Karnataka on the basis of a massive first-innings lead in the 2025-26 final.
Opting to bat first, J&K piled up a commanding 584 runs, powered by Shubham Pundir’s century (121). Their bowlers then dismantled Karnataka for 293, with pace spearhead Auqib Nabi claiming a brilliant five-wicket haul. Despite Mayank Agarwal’s valiant 160, Karnataka fell well short, handing J&K a decisive lead of 291 runs.
In their second innings, J&K extended the advantage to 633 runs, thanks to centuries from Qamran Iqbal and Sahil Lotra. The match ended in a draw on Day 5, but J&K’s first-innings dominance sealed their historic triumph.
