With a focus on streamlining operations and enhancing efficiency, the state has prioritised the integration of AI across various programs to ensure precise and swift execution.

Under the guidance of Law, Works, and Excise Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, the Works Department organised a comprehensive one-day training session today at the Convention Centre in Lok Seva Bhawan. The program aimed to equip all department officials, engineers stationed across various locations, and employees with practical knowledge on utilising AI in their daily workflows.

Participants received hands-on training on multiple facets of AI, including its applications, operational methodologies, and proficiency in generating documents based on diverse data sets. The session highlighted how AI can boost productivity and decision-making in infrastructure projects and administrative tasks.

Attendees hailed the initiative as a significant milestone, emphasising its potential to transform departmental operations. “This mega program on AI adoption among officials and staff will serve as a landmark in our journey towards efficient governance,” expressed several participating officers.

The workshop saw the presence of key dignitaries, including the Engineer-in-Chief (EIC) & Special Secretary Er. Lakshmikant Padhi, Additional Secretary, Deepak Ranjan Das, Chief Engineer (Design), Er. Sameer Hota, Joint Secretary (IT), Dipti Ranjan Behera, Financial Advisor, Ratikant Mohapatra, and Chief Engineer (Buildings), Er. Priyabrat Samantaray, along with other departmental officials and employees. The training was facilitated by the Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC).

This move aligns with the broader governmental strategy to leverage AI for sustainable development, positioning Odisha as a forward-thinking state in India’s technological landscape.
