Day 4 of the AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam witnessed major announcements and high-profile global participation, with industry leaders and world heads of state sharing the stage in New Delhi.

₹10 Lakh Crore AI Push by Reliance and Jio

In a landmark announcement, Reliance Industries and Jio pledged an investment of ₹10 lakh crore over the next seven years to build artificial intelligence infrastructure and capabilities in India.

Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani described AI as the “new growth engine” and predicted that India will emerge as a global AI powerhouse in the coming decade.

PM Modi Calls for Democratisation of AI

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the summit, emphasising inclusive and ethical AI adoption. He unveiled the MANAV vision for artificial intelligence and called for the democratisation of AI to ensure it benefits all sections of society.

Earlier in the day, Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw introduced the New Delhi Frontier AI Impact Commitments.

Global Tech Leaders Take the Stage

The summit featured addresses from prominent global technology leaders, including:

  • Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google

  • Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI

  • Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic

  • N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres praised India for hosting the first AI summit in the Global South.

French President Emmanuel Macron also addressed the gathering, calling for strict measures against digital abuse and highlighting India’s digital infrastructure achievements, including UPI.

Traffic Disruptions Across Delhi

The high-level participation led to extensive traffic restrictions across central Delhi. Heavy VIP movement around Bharat Mandapam brought parts of the capital to a standstill, with diversions in place throughout the day.

Galgotias University Controversy

The summit also witnessed controversy after Galgotias University was asked to exit the venue following backlash over a robotic dog demonstration. The university clarified it had not claimed ownership of the product.

What’s Next?

The Day 4 schedule includes further sessions by business and technology leaders such as Sunil Bharti Mittal and Rishad Premji. The summit continues to focus on AI innovation, regulation, digital infrastructure and global cooperation.

With multi-trillion-rupee investment commitments and participation from global policymakers and tech CEOs, AI Summit 2026 marks a pivotal moment in India’s artificial intelligence roadmap.
