Odisha Vigilance Seizes Illegal Granite Worth Rs 24.81 Lakh in Jajpur

Acting on reliable information, the forest wing of Odisha Vigilance conducted a joint raid inside the Balarampur Proposed Reserve Forest under Jenapur Police Station on February 18, 2026.


During the operation, officials seized three tractors laden with 16 cubic feet of minor minerals, specifically black granite stone, valued at ₹24.81 lakh. The raid targeted illegal trading activities inside the forest area.

Authorities confirmed that the tractors and minerals were confiscated on the spot. Vigilance officials stated that further investigation is underway, and a detailed report will follow.

This successful raid highlights the department’s continued efforts to curb illegal mining and protect forest resources in Odisha.
