Popular Odia Jatra actor Piyush Tripathy, widely known for his powerful antagonist roles, has faced a legal setback after the Bhubaneswar court imposed a temporary ban on his stage performances. The order was issued following allegations of breach of contract filed by a Jatra troupe.

According to the case details, the court has restrained Tripathy from performing on stage until the next hearing, during which the matter will be reviewed further.

A Jatra party approached the court alleging that Tripathy violated the terms of an existing agreement. As per the contract, the actor was not permitted to perform for any other Jatra group during the agreed period. However, the troupe claimed that he acted in another group, thereby breaching contractual obligations.

After a preliminary hearing, the court found merit in the complaint and issued an interim restraining order against the actor.

The development has triggered widespread discussion in the Odia entertainment and Jatra industry, as Piyush Tripathy enjoys strong popularity among audiences for his performances. The court’s decision has come as a surprise to many within the cultural fraternity.

The final outcome of the case will be determined during the upcoming hearing.
