Police discovered the body of a man on the banks of the Tel River under the Tusura police station jurisdiction in Bolangir district on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Nataraj Thanapati, a businessman and resident of Deulgudi village.
During routine late-night patrolling, police personnel noticed an unattended motorcycle parked on a bridge over the Tel River. Since the situation appeared suspicious, they searched the surrounding area. As a result, they found the body lying on the riverbank below the bridge.
Police quickly informed the family members of the deceased and began an investigation into the incident. Moreover, a forensic team arrived at the spot to examine the scene and collect evidence.
Authorities later sent the body for a post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death. Officials assured that further details will be shared once the investigation progresses.
