The Government of Odisha has appointed 20 officers as Executive Magistrates in Puri district to oversee law and order during the upcoming New Year celebrations.
The appointments, made under Section 14 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, will remain in force from December 31, 2025, to January 2, 2026.
The officers, drawn from Khordha, Ganjam, Kalahandi, and Dhenkanal districts, include Tahasildars, Deputy Collectors, Land Officers, and Zone Officers. They have been directed to report to the Collector, Puri, before December 30, 2025.
The appointments aim to ensure smooth management of large gatherings and festivities in Puri, a major tourist and pilgrimage destination during the New Year.
