Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi approved the establishment of a Global Visa Application Centre in Bhubaneswar on December 15, 2025.
The proposed centre will operate from the Babasaheb Ambedkar Bus Terminal building in Baramunda, with the state government providing 3,000 square feet of space for its functioning.
Until now, residents of Odisha had to travel to cities like Kolkata, Delhi, or Hyderabad to apply for international visas. The new centre will eliminate this inconvenience, offering services within the state capital.
For years, citizens of Odisha have demanded a visa facility in Bhubaneswar. Responding to this long-standing request, the Chief Minister approved the project, describing it as a significant step toward improving accessibility and convenience for travellers.
