Cold Wave to Persist in Odisha Until December 12; Gradual Temperature Relief Expected From December 13

Odisha is currently experiencing an extended spell of cold weather, with forecasts indicating that the chilly conditions will continue for at least the next four days.

According to the latest meteorological updates, the State will remain under the influence of cold and dry north-westerly winds until December 12, keeping temperatures noticeably low—particularly during the night.

Cold, Dry Winds Keep Temperatures Low

Weather experts report that an active high-pressure system positioned over Rajasthan is driving cold and dry winds toward Odisha. As a result, no major change in night temperatures is expected during this period. Several locations across the State may continue to record minimum temperatures below 10°C, extending the ongoing cold wave.

Western Disturbance to Bring Gradual Relief

A western disturbance is likely to impact the western Himalayan region beginning December 13. Following this development, Odisha is expected to see a gradual rise in night temperatures.
The approaching system is expected to alter the existing wind pattern, which may help ease the intensity of the cold wave after several days of persistent chill.

Weather to Turn Milder After December 13

With the anticipated shift in wind flow after December 13, temperatures are likely to become milder across the State. This warming trend will mark the beginning of relief from the current cold wave, which has remained steady due to uninterrupted inflow of dry north-westerly winds.

State authorities and weather agencies continue to closely monitor the situation, and no significant deviation from the current forecast is expected until the western disturbance begins to influence Odisha’s weather conditions.

Meta Description (SEO-Optimized)
