The 53rd International Emmy Awards celebrated outstanding global television programming on November 24 in New York City, honouring creators, performers, and storytellers from around the world. Hosted by Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, this year’s ceremony highlighted powerful narratives, including two groundbreaking documentaries on the Gaza conflict, which made history by winning in their respective non-fiction categories.

India’s much-discussed film Amar Singh Chamkila, starring Diljit Dosanjh, secured two nominations but did not win any awards. Dosanjh, who attended the event, lost the Best Actor award to Oriol Pla for the Spanish drama Yo, adicto (I, Addict).

The winners represented a diverse set of countries, including the UK, Spain, Germany, Japan, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, and Australia.
