Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in New Delhi on Wednesday after concluding his official visit to Bhutan.

He immediately visited Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital and met survivors of Monday’s car blast near the Red Fort. He interacted with them, wished them a speedy recovery, and received updates from doctors and officials on their condition.

Afterwards, the Prime Minister held discussions with senior security and investigation officials regarding the latest findings in the case. Later in the day, he scheduled a crucial meeting of the Union Cabinet, followed by a session of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), to assess the broader implications of the incident.

The blast near Red Fort Metro Station’s Gate No. 1 claimed at least 10 lives and injured around 20 others. Moreover, preliminary investigations by central security and intelligence agencies linked the explosion to a recent seizure of RDX from three doctors based in Jammu and Kashmir. Authorities recovered the explosive material from Faridabad.

Officials confirmed that police arrested two of the doctors. Meanwhile, investigators believe the third suspect, Umar Nabi, drove the Hyundai i20 car that exploded. They continue to work on confirming the driver’s identity, as his body was dismembered in the blast.

As part of the probe, investigators collected DNA samples from Umar Nabi’s mother in Pulwama and sent them for forensic matching. Consequently, the case continues to unfold as security agencies intensify efforts to trace the network behind the attack.
