Gouri Prasad Tadingi, a jawan of the Odisha Auxiliary Police Force (OAPF), was found dead under unexplained circumstances in Rayagada district on Thursday.
His body was discovered on the roadside between Pitamahal and Jamadeipentha under Rayagada block.
Sesakhala police reached the scene promptly and initiated an investigation. Rayagada SDPO Gourahari Sahu confirmed that Gouri had reported for duty on Wednesday night but was later found dead.
While preliminary findings suggest he may have been suffering from health issues, authorities have not ruled out other possibilities. The exact cause of death will be determined after a post-mortem examination.
Police are conducting a detailed probe to uncover the events leading to the jawan’s death. The incident has raised concerns within the local security forces and community.
