There’s no stopping Kantara Chapter 1! The Kannada period action drama continues its blockbuster run, surpassing the lifetime collections of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Beginning and Salman Khan’s Sultan.
With a strong second weekend, the Rishab Shetty and Rukmini Vasanth starrer has now crossed the Rs 650 crore mark worldwide, moving closer to Rs 700 crore.
On its 12th day, the film collected Rs 13.50 crore net in India, marking a 64% dip from Sunday’s Rs 39.75 crore but maintaining a solid trend. Domestically, Kantara Chapter 1 has earned Rs 451.90 crore net (Rs 542 crore gross) so far, while its overseas earnings have crossed $11 million, driven by a strong performance in North America.
According to Hombale Films, the movie raked in Rs 146 crore gross in its second weekend, taking its total worldwide earnings to around Rs 655 crore after 11 days. Trade analysts estimate the 12-day global total to be around Rs 650 crore.
Kantara Chapter 1 Enters Top 20 Highest-Grossing Indian Films
The film now ranks 17th among India’s highest-grossing movies, overtaking Sultan (Rs 628 crore) and Baahubali: The Beginning (Rs 650 crore). What makes the achievement remarkable is its modest budget compared to these massive productions.
Kantara Chapter 1 is now the second-highest-grossing Indian film of 2025, closing in on Chhaava (Rs 808 crore).
