Odisha Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik will celebrate his birthday on October 16 by leading a Janasamparka Padayatra in Bhubaneswar’s Ganganagar Ward No. 52.
BJD Bhubaneswar district president Ashok Panda confirmed the plan. The Padayatra aims to strengthen public engagement and connect with local residents. Party workers will join Patnaik during the walk, which is expected to draw large crowds.
After the Padayatra, Naveen Patnaik will visit SOS Village to distribute sweets and interact with children. He will also receive birthday wishes from party workers and supporters.
The event reflects BJD’s grassroots strategy and Patnaik’s personal commitment to public service. The Padayatra will highlight key welfare schemes and gather feedback from citizens.
Party leaders said the outreach will energize workers ahead of upcoming civic polls. Patnaik’s birthday has often been marked by social initiatives rather than personal celebrations.
Security arrangements are in place for the Padayatra and SOS Village visit. Local police and BJD volunteers will manage crowd control and logistics. The Padayatra will begin in the morning and cover key areas of Ward 52.
