In a written reply during the Odisha Assembly session, Minister of School and Mass Education Nityananda Gond disclosed that a total of 32 cases of abuse against girl students have been registered across nine districts of the state.
Kandhamal district reported the highest number of cases with 11 incidents, followed by Sundargarh with 4. Ganjam, Kendrapara, Balasore, and Keonjhar each recorded 2 cases.
Meanwhile, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jagatsinghpur, and Kalahandi reported one case each. Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj, and Nabarangpur also registered one case each.
