Bhubaneswar: While Odisha is set to brace Cyclone Yaas on May 26, the state government has now relaxed lockdown guidelines for 10 districts for two days.
The districts are — Balasore, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Puri, Jajpur, Cuttack & Khurda.
As per available information, with an aim to allow people more time to obtain essential items from the market during lockdown before the impending cyclone reaches the coast of Odisha, the State government in continuation to Revenue & Disaster Management department has allowed Grocery shops, OMFED booths & shops dealing with food & essential items, vegetables, fish, meat & eggs to remain open between 7 am & 1 pm on Monday & Tuesday in 10 coastal & adjoining districts.
As per the ace oceanic research institute of India, INCOIS, which is under the control of the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, the Landfall of Cyclone Yaas will take place in the morning hours on May 26 in West Bengal bordering very close to Balasore.
