Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the nationwide campaign “Swasth Naari, Sashakt Parivaar” from Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, marking a significant step toward women’s health and family empowerment.

The campaign will run from September 17 to October 2 across India, focusing on maternal health, nutrition, and preventive care.

To commemorate the launch, a state-level event was held at the IDCO Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar, where Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi joined ministers, legislators, and senior officials in solidarity with the national initiative.

CM Majhi inaugurated the health screening stalls and toured the venue, interacting with participants and healthcare workers. Addressing the media, he emphasized that September 17—PM Modi’s birthday—is a symbolic day for advancing women’s empowerment. He recalled that last year, PM Modi launched the Subhadra Yojana in Odisha, and this year, the focus has expanded to women across the nation.

Majhi highlighted that PM Modi’s schemes have supported women at every stage of life—from education and health to financial independence. Initiatives like Ujjwala Yojana, Kishori Shakti, Nai Roshni, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, and Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana have brought transformative change to millions of lives.

The CM announced that Odisha will host health camps across all 30 districts, aiming to benefit over 1.5 crore women. These camps will offer screenings for conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, cancer, anemia, tuberculosis, and sickle cell disease, along with maternal and adolescent health assessments. Blood donation drives and nutrition awareness campaigns will also be organized.

As of 1:30 PM today, over 70,000 women had already been screened across Odisha, placing the state fourth nationally in campaign participation. CM Majhi expressed confidence that the initiative will further improve health indicators for women and children and contribute to building a healthier, more empowered society.
